Munich International Air Gun Competition-Jan11
A step forward is a step forward, however big or small it is. And Munich International Air Gun competition was just that!
The first of my two matches went well, for this point in my competition development. Having changed a great deal to my technique, the 97/100 start illustrated it is the right was for me. But not quite embedded in yet, with the following couple of poor shots. The psychology of now starting to shoot well, is being confident with shooting well! My second match I was not so happy with. Sport is character building I keep telling my self, but I won’t give up!
I was once told there are three things you need to be successful, preparation, preparation and preparation! This was the case when driving to Heathrow Airport for my flight to Germany. Meeting my Team Mates in the morning at the Lufthansa check-in desk, meant a crack of dawn wake up call. Enroute the traffic-warning cut into my GoTeamGregory car (aka Steve!) radio (www.gdl.uk.com/teamgregory), telling me the M3 was stationary but now clear. It had taken one caller one hour to get through! Deciding to join the queue, instead of facing the rush hour traffic off the beaten track, was the right move in retrospect even though I was having kittens at the time! Being prepared and leaving home with ample time for the journey, saw me arrive at Terminal1 a little red-faced, but on time!
The surprise then came that as of January 1st Lufthansa now charge £50 per flight (£50 there and £50 back!) to carry each gun. Sadly with no British Shooting funding any long, this had to come out of my sponsorship funding pot! So thank you to those who are supporting me a little, it all helps!
